Allie Vandersanden completed her undergraduate degree in English literature at Trent University, and her post-graduate certificate in creative book publishing at Humber College. Upon graduation, she embarked on a three year journey in Europe teaching ESL, writing for expat newspapers and travel magazines, editing for novelists and magazines, and organizing literary events for expats.

Allie is the co-founder of  A Tiny Tuscan Tale, Florence-based flash fiction contest, the co-founder of Outspoken, a monthly open reading series for writers, and one of the founding members of the Writers Group of Peterborough. Her short fiction has appeared in Il Cartello: rivista di cultura e societa, her personal essays in Novelty Magazine, and her travel writing in Passion Passport, Hostelling International and Explore Magazine.
